Volunteer Jobs
Family Leaders (ages 16 - adults)
Family leaders are in charge of a mixed age group of 10 or fewer children. The family leader will help them find their way around the marketplace and talk with them about the message of the day. Family leaders must be a friend and helper to the children in their group.
Assistant Family Leaders (5th grade - age 15)
Assistant family leaders will be the extra eyes, ears, and set of hands that a family leader needs. They get to befriend the children in their group and help them with the crafts and activities in the marketplace.
Shopkeepers (ages 16 - adults)
Shopkeepers will run the marketplace crafts for VBS. They must be patient and kind and willing to help the children with the crafts. They also have the oppurtunity to reinforce the message of the day through conversation with the children. Shopkeepers will have the oppurtunity to see what crafts and activities they will be in charge of at the training meeting to be announced. If you are interested in any particular area let us know on the registration form. These are the shops we will have this year:
- Geometry School
- Pottery Studio
- Law Court
- Toy-Making Shop
- Scribe Shop
- Jewelry Shop
- Music Shop
- Olympic Games
- Maze
Assistant Shopkeepers (5th grade - age 15)
Assistant Shopkeepers help the children in each shop with the crafts and assist the Shopkeeper with set up and clean up. They have the oppurtunity to get to know the children in the program and participate in all of the crafts and activities offered.
Other Volunteers
We always need more volunteers to be extra helpers, characters in our skits, kitchen helpers, and registration helpers. If you would like to volunteer, but don't know what you want to do, please sign up and we will find you a job.
