The Daughters of the King

Members of the Daughters of the King develop a strong sense of identity, purpose, support, and direction through their relationships with one another and through service.
St. John’s Chapter of the national Episcopal organization follows the lay order’s policy of prayer, service, and evangelism. The chapter activities regular offering of intentional prayers for parishioners’ specific needs as defined by the clergy, remembering those in nursing homes with greeting cards, acknowledging birthdays of parishioners with card, and implementing special service projects. They also provide for parishioners after funerals in the cathedral by hosting receptions for family and friends of the deceased.
Parish women of all ages, especially young adults, are invited to participate in the Daughters of the King. Membership requires completion of a study series, understanding the order’s religious purpose, and installation by the cathedral clergy. They meet on the first Tuesday of the month from 10:30 a.m. until noon in the Haslam Room.
