Congratulations Larry Hutsell!
As Knox County Health Department’s emergency preparedness coordinator, Larry Hutsell recently received Tennessee’s Distinguished Career Award. According to the media release from the Office of Mayor Tim Burchett, this award is given to one who has “shown an extraordinary impact on public health preparedness and response throughout his career.” After 9/11, Larry joined KCHD in 2002 to establish and lead the new role of emergency planning taken on by health departments across the U.S. Previously, he served as the Regional Emergency Medical Services Consultant with the Tennessee Department of Health for more than 20 years. Larry and his wife Susan were confirmed at the Cathedral in 1993, and attend the 8:00 am service.
